在眶的腹侧，翼腭窝（Fossa pterygopalatina）是基蝶骨的翼状突与上颌骨之间的间隙。

它是一个深凹陷，位于上颌结节的内侧尾方，其中开口有数个孔：

  • 内背侧，大的蝶腭孔（foramen sphenopalatinum），供蝶腭神经和血管通过；
