The anterior tympanic canaliculus (also known as Huguier's canal or Civinini's canal) is a small bony canal located in the anterior part of the temporal bone, at the level of the petrotympanic fissure. It allows the passage of the chorda tympani, a branch of the facial nerve (VII), from the tympanic cavity to the infratemporal region. This canal is located near the tympanic sulcus.
