Definition
Anterolateral sulcus of spinal cord is a longitudinal groove located on each side of the ventral (or anterior) surface of the spinal cord. It lies just lateral to the anterior median fissure and separates the anterior and the lateral white columns from each other. It marks the point where the anterior or motor rootles of spinal nerves emerge from the spinal cord.
