The ascending branch of the medial circumflex femoral artery is the part or the deep branch of medial circumflex femoral artery that enters the femoral capsular attachment posteriorly, running deep to the synovium, and typically terminates in two branches which predominantly supply the posterior aspect of the femoral head and neck.[2]
