Definition

From the last part of the inferior ramus of the oculomotor nerve [III], a short thick branch is given off to the lower part of the ciliary ganglion, and forms its short root. It's variably called the branch to ciliary ganglion, parasympathetic root of ciliary ganglion or oculomotor root of ciliary ganglion.
