Fossa infraclavicularis

  • Eponym: Mohrenheim's fossa

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The infraclavicular fossa is an anatomical region located beneath the clavicle. It is a triangular depression bounded superiorly by the clavicle, medially by the lateral border of the first rib, and laterally by the coracoid process of the scapula.

The infraclavicular fossa contains several critical structures, including the cords of the brachial plexus, the axillary artery, and the axillary vein.
