Left fibrous trigone

Trigonum fibrosum sinistrum

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The left fibrous trigone is situated between the aortic and mitral valve annuli, forming part of the central fibrous body. It serves as a point of fibrous continuity between the left coronary cusp of the aortic valve and the anterior leaflet of the mitral valve, and is contiguous with the membranous septum and the right fibrous trigone.
