Definition
The medial region of the knee is the area on the inner (medial) aspect of the knee joint. The principal components of the medial region include the superficial medial collateral ligament (sMCL), deep medial collateral ligament (dMCL), posterior oblique ligament (POL), the medial meniscus and its capsuloligamentous attachments, and the semimembranosus tendon and its expansions.
