Middle facet for calcaneus

Facies articularis calcanea media

Definition

The middle facet for calcaneus is found on the bottom surface of the talus’s head or the neck. It connects with the corresponding facet on the upper surface of the calcaneus (on the sustentaculum tali).

Two additional facets on the bottom surface of the talus serve to connect it with the calcaneum below: the anterior facet below the talus’s head and the posterior facet on the underside of the talus’s body.
