P2P segment

Segmentum P2P

  • Synonym: Posterior (ambient) of postcommunicating part of posterior cerebral artery

Definition

The P2P segment (posterior portion of the postcommunicating P2 segment of posterior cerebral artery) extends from the most lateral aspect of the cerebral peduncle and ends lateral to the posterior edge of the midbrain. P2A is within crural cistern whereas P2P is in the ambient cistern.
