Definition
The paraduodenal fold (Treitz arch; plica paraduodenalis) is a sickle-shaped fold of peritoneum that forms the anterior boundary of the paraduodenal recess that is an occasional recess in the peritoneum to the left of the terminal portion of the duodenum.
