Definition
The posterior accessory olivary nucleus is one of the accessory nuclei within the inferior olivary complex. It is situated posterior to the hilum of the principal inferior olivary nucleus and lies between the principal inferior olivary nucleus (anteriorly) and the reticular formation (posteriorly).
