Retroambiguus nucleus

The retroambiguus nucleus is a column of cells at the anterolateral en of the nucleus ambiguus. It extends caudaly into the upper portion of the cervical spinal cord. It is presumably involved in regulation of respiration and circulation, through its precise function in humans is not certain.
