Definition
The secondary lymphoid organs include lymph nodes, spleen, Peyer's patches, and mucosal-associated lymphoid tissues such as pharyngeal lymphoid ring (the tonsils) and adenoids. SLOs are sites where lymphocytes encounter antigens, leading to their activation and proliferation.
