Superior temporal gyrus
Gyrus temporalis superior
Definition
The superior temporal gyrus is located between the posterior ramus of the lateral fissure and the superior temporal sulcus. At the rear it connects with the supramarginal and angular gyri.
The superior temporal gyrus creates the temporal operculum, which is the lower cortical lip of the lateral sulcus that covers the insular cortex.
