Definition

The temporo-occipital branch of MCA supplies the gyri of the occipital lobe. It is the longest cortical branch of the MCA.

The cortical area supplied by this artery (Michotey et al.) is the temporooccipital area: the posterior one-half of the superior temporal gyrus, the posterior extreme of the middle and inferior temporal gyri, ant the inferior parts of the lateral occipital gyri.
