Arteria thalami perforans

Definition

The thalamoperforating arteries arise from the P1 segment of the posterior cerebral artery or from the posterior communicating artery, and pierce the posterior perforated substance, and supply the medial surfaces of the thalami and the walls of the third ventricle.
