Sinus trunci pulmonalis
Definition
The sinuses of the pulmonary trunk are composed by three pouch-like dilatations located immediately distal to the pulmonary valve at the root of the pulmonary artery. Each sinus is associated with one of the three pulmonary valve leaflets:
Intermediate sinus of pulmonary trunk (in front of the Intermediate semilunar cusp)
Right sinus of pulmonary trunk (in front of the right semilunar cusp)
Left sinus of pulmonary trunk (in front of the left semilunar cusp)
