Tracheal region
Regio trachealis
Definition
The tracheal region corresponds to the anatomical area centered on the trachea, connecting the larynx to the bronchi. It extends from the larynx to the tracheal bifurcation within the thorax. Located ventrally in the neck and then in the cranial mediastinum, it is dorsally related to the esophagus. It mainly contains the trachea and its associated vascular and nervous elements. Its arrangement may vary depending on domestic species.
