定义
枕骨的外侧部位于枕骨大孔两侧，向前内方延伸，与其基底部汇合。在每个外侧部的外缘，有一个不规则的骨性边缘，称为颈静脉切迹，构成颈静脉孔的枕骨部分。从该孔沿枕骨大孔方向向下，可见另一骨性管道，即舌下神经管。该骨性管道容纳舌下神经通过，使其得以支配舌肌肉。
此外，在枕骨****外侧部的下方，可辨认出两个骨性突起，称为枕髁。这些枕髁通过寰枕关节与寰椎的上关节面相连，将颅骨与脊柱连接起来。
