The anterolateral ligament (ALL) of the knee is a distinct, extra-articular ligament located on the anterolateral aspect of the knee. It originates just proximal and posterior to the lateral femoral epicondyle, often overlapping or closely associated with the femoral attachment of the lateral collateral ligament (LCL).The anterolateral ligament courses anteroinferiorly and obliquely, passing deep to the iliotibial band (ITB), and inserts on the proximal tibia at a point midway between Gerdy's tubercle and the fibular head.
