Lateral meniscotibial ligament

Ligamentum meniscotibiale laterale

  • Synonym: Lateral coronary ligament

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The lateral meniscotibial ligament (Lateral coronary ligament) is located at the posteroinferior aspect of the lateral meniscus. It is attached to the lateral meniscus and extends to the tibial plateau.

Unlike the medial meniscotibial ligament, which is part of the medial collateral ligament (Deep part of tibial collateral ligament), the lateral meniscotibial ligament is not part of the lateral (fibular) collateral ligament.
