Definition
The anterolateral sulcus of medulla oblongata is located between the pyramid of medulla oblongata and the olive superiorly and the lateral funiculus of medulla oblongata inferiorly. The rootlets of the hypoglossal nerve (CN XII) emerge from this sulcus.
