Clavicular facet
Facies articularis clavicularis
Definition
The clavicular facet of the acromion is a small, oval surface situated on the medial border of the acromion process of the scapula. It articulates with the lateral end of the clavicle, forming the acromioclavicular (AC) joint. Covered with articular cartilage, this facet enables smooth gliding and rotational movements between the acromion and the clavicle, contributing to shoulder mobility and stability.
