Definition
The deep perineal pouch (also deep perineal space) is the anatomic space enclosed in part by the perineum, and located superior to the perineal membrane.
It is bounded superiorly by the pelvic diaphragm (levator ani muscles), inferiorly by the perineal membrane (inferior fascia of the urogenital diaphragm), and laterally by the obturator internus muscle.
The deep perineal pouch contains:

Compressor urethrae muscle in the female is sometimes included
Urethrovaginal sphincter in the female is sometimes included
Other
Female: proximal portion of urethra, vagina, greater vestibular glands (Bartholin glands)
