Fossa digastrica
Definition
The digastric fossa is an oval-shaped depression found at the center of the lower edge of the mandible’s body. It stretches to the inner side of the mandible’s body and stops right below the inferior mental spine. The digastric fossa serves as the site of origin of the anterior belly of digastric muscle.
