Gingival branches of nasopalatine nerve

Rami gingivales nervi nasopalatini

Definition

Antoine Micheau

Gingival branches of nasopalatine nerve are the terminal ramifications of the nasopalatine nerve that innervate the palatal gingiva surrounding the maxillary central and lateral incisors, and occasionally extending to the canine region. This area of innervation overlaps with the territory of the greater palatine nerve, which supplies the more posterior palatal mucosa and gingiva.
