Indusium griseum

Indusium griseum

  • Synonym: Supracallosal gyrus

Definition

Indusium griseum is a vestigial trace of the dentate gyrus, which is part of the hippocampal formation. It is composed of gray matter and is located on the dorsal surface of the corpus callosum, running inside the callosal sulcus. It is concealed by the medial and lateral longitudinal striae.

Next, anterior and below the corpus callosum, in the subcallosal region, the indusium griseum continues with the paraterminal gyrus and uncus.
