Intercondylar eminence
Eminentia intercondylaris
Definition
Intercondylar eminence is the elevated bony region located at the center of the intercondylar area, on the superior surface of the upper end of the tibia. It is flanked by medial and lateral intercondylar tubercles on both sides. As a result of the intercondylar eminence, the intercondylar area on the tibial plateau is divided into two regions: the anterior intercondylar area in front of the intercondylar eminence and the posterior intercondylar area behind the intercondylar eminence.
