Definition
The internal opening of cochlear canaliculus is located at the point where the scala tympani leads into the bony cochlea, close to the basal coil of cochlea. From this point, a narrow bony passage called the cochlear canaliculus begins and extends to its other opening in the posterior cranial fossa.
