Definition
The intertarsal joints are the articulations between the tarsal bones of the foot. These joints include the connections among the talus, calcaneus, navicular, cuboid, and the three cuneiform bones. The major intertarsal joints are:
Subtalar joint (talocalcaneal joint): between the talus and calcaneus.
Transverse tarsal joint (midtarsal joint; Chopart's joint): articulation of the calcaneus with the cuboid (the calcaneocuboid joint), and the talus with the navicular (the talocalcaneonavicular joint).
Cuneonavicular joint between the navicular and cuneiforms.
Cuneocuboid joint between lateral cuneiform and cuboid
Cuboideonavicular joint between the cuboid and navicular.
Intercuneiform joints between the cuneiform bones.
