Lamina terminalis
Lamina terminalis
Definition
Lamina terminalis is thin sheet of gray matter which contributes to the anterior wall of the third ventricle (or the hypothalamus).
Commissural fibers of the anterior commissure traverse through the lamina terminalis to interconnect the frontal cortices of both sides. Note that both lamina terminalis and the anterior commissure, constitutes the pre-optic area.
