Definition
The lateral cutaneous branch of iliohypogastric nerve is a sensory branch that emerges from the iliohypogastric nerve near the iliac crest. It pierces the internal oblique muscle and the external oblique aponeurosis to supply sensory innervation to the skin over the posterolateral gluteal region.
