Definition

The lingular vein (Lingular pulmonary vein) is a pulmonary vein that drains deoxygenated blood from the lingula of the left upper lobe of the lung and drains into the left superior pulmonary vein before entering the left atrium, though anatomical variations exist.

In the standard anatomical pattern, the lingular vein (designated as V4+5, representing segments 4 and 5 of the left upper lobe) is formed by the junction of superior lingular vein of left lung and inferior lingular vein of left lung.
