The medulla of a lymph node is a central region characterized by its unique structural and functional components. It is one of the three main compartments of a lymph node, alongside the cortex and paracortex and is the innermost layer of the lymph node that contains large blood vessels, sinuses, and medullary cords, which are essential for the lymph node's role in filtering lymph and facilitating immune responses.
