Definition

The motor nucleus of trigeminal nerve contains motor neurons that innervate muscles of the first branchial arch, namely the muscles of mastication, the tensor tympani, tensor veli palatini, mylohyoid, and anterior belly of thedigastric. This nucleus is located in the mid-pons.
