Margo nasalis ossis frontalis
- Related terms: Nasal margin
Definition
The nasal margin of frontal bone is the lower, serrated margin of the nasal part of the frontal bone. It is marked by right and left nasal notches. Each of these notches articulate at the front with the nasal bones, and on the sides, they connect with the frontal process of the maxilla and the lacrimal bones. Where the two nasal notches join in the midline at the front, they form a prominent nasal spine. This spine extends downward and forward, positioning itself behind the nasal bones to support to the nose’s bridge.
