Opening of frontal sinus
Apertura sinus frontalis
Definition
The opening of frontal sinus is integral to its connection with the nasal cavity, facilitated through a descending bony passage known as the frontonasal duct. This duct allows the sinus to clear mucus and other secretions into the nose. Located within the middle meatus, the opening specifically dispatches into the anterior section of the semilunar hiatus, ensuring a direct pathway for drainage from the frontal air sinus into the nasal cavity.
