Foramen parietale

  • Synonym: Foramen for parietal emissary vein; Parietal emissary foramen

Definition

The parietal foramen can be found at the rear of each parietal bone, positioned on both sides of the sagittal suture. This opening allows a vein to drain into the superior sagittal sinus. Sometimes, a small branch of the occipital artery might also go through it.
