Pectineal line of femur

Definition
Pectineal line of femur (a.k.a. spiral line) is the upward medial continuation of the linea aspera as it extends towards the lesser trochanter of the femur. It curves beneath the lesser trochanter and reaches the anterior aspect of the upper femoral end, merging with the lower section of the intertrochanteric line. The pectineal line provides a point of attachment for the pectineus muscle.
