Short gyri of insula
Gyri breves insulae
Definition
Inside the insula, there are different insular gyri divided by the central sulcus. In front of the central sulcus, there are three short gyri of insula (anterior, middle, and posterior), while behind the central sulcus, you can find two long insular gyri (anterior and posterior).
