Definition
The sphenoidal crest is a raised bony edge that stick out from the front surface of the body of the sphenoid bone. Positioned centrally, it contributes a bit to the nasal septum, where it articulates with the perpendicular plate of ethmoid bone. The sphenoidal air sinuses, on both the right and left sides, open on the front surface of the sphenoid bone, flanking the sphenoid crest on each side.
