The submental triangle is an unpaired region of the anterior neck. It is defined by the following boundaries: inferiorly by the body of the hyoid bone, laterally by the anterior bellies of the right and left digastric muscles, and superiorly by the mandibular symphysis (midline of the mandible). The floor of the submental triangle is formed by the mylohyoid muscle, and its roof is the investing layer of the deep cervical fascia and overlying
