Abaxial solear foramen

Foramen soleare abaxiale

Definition

In carnivores, the flexor tubercle on the palmar part of the distal phalanx is perfored on each side by two foramina: the axial solear foramen and the abaxial solear foramen.

These foramina are the opening of vascular canals that transversly perforate the ungual process on its base.
