Fossa axillaris

Definition
The axillary fossa is the anatomical space located between the thoracic limb and the thorax, bordered by the pectoral muscles (cranially) and the latissimus dorsi muscle (caudally).
It contains the major neurovascular structures of the limb, including the axillary artery and vein, and the nerves of the brachial plexus which are arranged around them.
