Cartilago meatus acustici
Definition
The cartilage of acoustic meatus is a rolled-up proximal part of the auricular cartilage, which supports the distal portion of the external acoustic meatus. In the dog, the cartilage is bent rostrally, showing on the caudal aspect a palpable conchal eminence, landmark in surgical procedures on the external ear.
