Intermediate branch [Left ventricular marginal vein]

Ramus intermedius [vena marginis ventricularis sinistri]

Definition

Antoine Micheau

The intermediate branch of great cardiac vein, also called the left ventricular marginal vein drains blood from the lateral wall of the left ventricle; it runs along the left ventricular margin of the heart, often accompanying the corresponding marginal branch of the left coronary artery, and empties into the great cardiac vein or directly into the coronary sinus.
