Definition
The intermediate carpal bone is the second bone of the proximal carpal row. It's sometimes called lunate bone.
In carnivores, the radial carpal (scaphoid) bone is fused with the intermediate carpal (lunate) bone to form the intermedioradial carpal bone (scapholunate bone).
