Lateral part of distal condyle of proximal phalanx

Pars lateralis condyli distalis phalangis proximalis

Definition

In Equidae, the medial distal condyle of proximal phalanx (Condylus distalis medialis phalangis proximalis)is a bit stronger than the lateral distal condyle of proximal phalanx (Condylus distalis lateralis phalangis proximalis). The distal extremity has also on each side a depression for a ligamentar attachment.

In the polydactyles species, the axial condyle is usually smaller than the abaxial.
