In the horse, the medial plantar nerve is the medial terminal branch of the tibial nerve in the distal pelvic limb. It courses distally along the medial aspect of the metatarsus and provides sensory innervation to the plantar aspect of the digit before continuing as the medial plantar digital nerve.
